US Lawmaker Claims Humans Already Contacted by Aliens

Tennessee Republican Representative Tim Burchett has stated that extraterrestrial beings do not pose a threat to humanity. Burchett claims that aliens have visited Earth in otherworldly craft and made contact with humans, citing information from unnamed government officials. During a livestream interview with TMZ, the congressman detailed that these sources provided "specifics, addresses, times and dates, and people that were in the meeting," noting that the information reached executive branch levels of previous presidential administrations.
Interest in UFOs and unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) has grown substantially in the United States in recent years, fueled by the Pentagon's establishment of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and official channels for reporting sightings. Burchett, 61, emphasized that the accounts refer to both "life that is not earthly" and "something mechanical that's not earthly," but dismissed any imminent danger: "If they exist as I think they do, they could have destroyed us with the blink of an eye, and I just don't see that."
In earlier remarks to Newsmax, the lawmaker warned that declassifying information about alleged alien encounters could undermine public confidence, revealing that multiple government agencies hold alarming data. Burchett has emerged as a leading voice in pushing for greater government transparency on UAPs, accusing agencies like NASA of lying about what they know and asserting that many files remain undisclosed.
This backdrop aligns with recent announcements from figures such as former President Donald Trump, who in February ordered the release of UFO-related documents due to "tremendous interest," and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who confirmed the Defense Department would assess whether records about aliens exist. However, in March 2024 the Pentagon clarified it has no proof that unidentified aerial phenomena represent alien technology, attributing many cases to weather balloons, spy planes, satellites, and routine activity.
